Robin Yasinow first came to the Institute in a consulting role following our competitive search for a public relations firm in 2011. Passionate about the Institute’s mission, she accepted our offer the following year to join us part time as director of communications. Now full time with the Institute, she oversees our strategic communications and marketing initiatives, website, publications, and media relations.
An award-winning communications professional with 20 years of experience, Yasinow has designed and orchestrated public relations campaigns for more than 50 brands, including DeWalt, Hitachi, Lucite, the D.C. Lottery, Armstrong, and the U.S. Mint.
Prior to joining the Institute, she was an independent consultant for more than a decade, providing media relations, social media, crisis communications, and strategic planning services for clients such as Vehicles For Change, The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore, LM&O Advertising, First Virginia Community Bank, Advance, Barwood Taxi, Hargrove, Hord Coplan Macht, Levin Group, EMG, and Presidential Financial, among others.
Before establishing her consulting practice, Yasinow rose from assistant account executive to vice president while with public relations and advertising agencies W.B. Doner, Eisner Petrou & Associates, and Carton Donofrio Partners. She began her career in the marketing department at Center Stage.
Yasinow holds a master’s degree with distinction from the Institute of Communication Studies at the University of Leeds in England, and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Goucher College.
