Daniel Patrell joined the Institute for Integrative Health in September 2018 as its Director of Communications, bringing with him more than 20 years experience in communications, marketing communications, public relations, and online and print publishing for tourism, magazines, and associations.
Daniel founded and published Maryland Life magazine, which won numerous international awards for its editorial, design, and focus on Maryland culture. With an editorial advisory board of 90+ community leaders from every corner of the state creating story ideas that encompassed the diversity of Maryland, the magazine enjoyed a subscriber base of 50,000. In 2012, Daniel was named President of the International Regional Magazine Association.
At the American Association of Immunologists, Daniel coordinated the marketing for its annual conference in Washington, DC, which resulted in the largest-attended immunology conference to date, with the highest number of abstracts presented in 17 years. For Loose Leaf, an independent communications agency he started, Daniel created marketing communications solutions that increased visibility and reach, while reducing costs for nonprofit, tourism, and editorial clients. Daniel has written hundreds of articles for general interest, association, and industry audiences.
An accomplished mosaic artist whose art has been featured in newspapers, magazines, and television, Daniel's work, "Love is Forever - Four Windows for Connie Walker," a mosaic work with themes of love, healing, and family, was featured at the American Visionary Art Museum in its show, "The Big Hope," in 2015 and 2016. Daniel has one daughter, Sophia, who continually amazes him, and the world's best dog, Luci.
