Yoga for a Healthy Back teaches yoga and health care professionals yogic skills they can use both for self-care and in the work place to offer integrative care to clients/patients who seek back pain relief. These skills include breathing, meditation, and yoga postures that studies have shown to be effective in increasing pain tolerance and reducing back pain. Participants will learn the causes of back pain as well as medical and surgical treatment options available in a clinical setting.
To ensure yoga postures are practiced safely, participants will learn precautions and contraindications for clients/patients who are dealing with back pain, have had surgery, or have received a specific diagnosis of a back ailment.
