A problem cannot be solved at the level at which it was created.

Integrative Health

There is a unique opportunity at this point in time to improve our healthcare system through an integrative approach, blending complementary and conventional medicine and valuing mind, body, and spirit. President Barack Obama’s administration has recognized not only the importance of healthcare reform, but the central role of prevention, if we are to have a system that is financially sustainable and truly focused on health, rather than disease.

The Institute seeks to challenge conventional thinking on health and healthcare, reframing the conversation, nurturing creative solutions, and exploring cutting-edge ideas. Our emphasis is to bring together thought-leaders from multiple disciplines in order to inspire fresh perspectives and solutions. We support scholarship in areas that may not be funded by conventional sources, developing a network that will cross institutional and national boundaries.

From a firm foundation of science, our work aspires to show proof of concept for new models of health promotion. We place high value on projects that have the potential to be replicated for the benefit of large populations. We believe in bringing people together to shape a new vision for health.
